American owned and operated since 1999, Guard-IT is a privately held Texas corporation serving technology developers, their licensees and legal counsel in the U.S., Canada, Europe and Asia. Guard-IT's corporate headquarters and centralized business operations are located in Austin, Texas. Guard-IT clients span more than 25 countries worldwide and range from federal government agencies to solo IT developers to Fortune 500 companies in all industries.

Guard-IT's executive team brings together more than 60 years of combined experience in software escrow services, IT systems and e-commerce development, intellectual property matters and corporate contract law. In 2002, Guard-IT introduced its paperless Online Client Services system to automate the creation of software escrow agreements, and expanded its international operations into Toronto. The year ended with Guard-IT's acquisition of Fidex Americas Corporation, an Idaho-based competitor.

In September 2010, Guard-IT was selected as a preferred software escrow provider for Microsoft's "Certified for Microsoft Dynamics" developer accreditation program (see news release).
