Guard-IT Corporation Secures Two of Austin's 'Top 50' Technology Companies

AUSTIN, TEXAS (October 10, 2000) – Guard-IT Corporation, the Austin-based leader in third-party escrow services for source code and intellectual property, has added two prominent Austin technology companies to its local clientele.

InfoGlide Corporation (
www.infoglide.com) and QuickArrow Inc. (www.quickarrow.com), both on LocalBusiness.com’s current “Top 50 To Watch” list (Austin), are the newest additions to Guard-IT’s growing list of escrow clients.

Guard-IT founder and CEO Jim Ford said that while most of the company’s clients are located across the country, the local client base is expanding with the increasing need for Guard-IT’s escrow services.

"The energy and activity in Austin, and our region in general, helps create a great hometown market for our services," Ford said. "Escrow is of particular value to emerging technology companies, many of which reside in Austin."

Escrow acts like title insurance for a software or technology license agreement, securing the developer’s source code and intellectual property while also protecting the licensee’s investment in the technology.

Founded in 1999, Guard-IT Corporation protects the intellectual assets of small developers and Fortune 500 powerhouses from coast to coast. Recently, Guard-IT was named as a seat holder in Pricewaterhouse- Coopers’ Intellectual Property Exchange, expanding its reach and services worldwide.
